Flat rugs are shaved level across the entire surface of the design, like a “traditional” rug. These rugs are the same materials and crafting quality, only with less time spent at the end sculpting the rug with scissors and shavers. Ideal for complex designs with smaller details. 

Contoured rugs feature a clearly defined edge between colours and/or lines to create a raised effect, accentuating the design. These rugs required the largest time commitment to “carving”, using scissors and shavers to create the contours. Ideal for simple designs with clear distinction between colours.  

Focused rugs are a combination of Flat and Contoured Rug; they are shaved flat then only one or more key sections are carved out. This is great to highlight a specific section to make it stand out and can give the impression of a foreground and background. Ideal for designs with a key focal point you want to bring attention to.
